Literatura Marginal: uma proposta de intervenção pedagógica

Abstract

The present study addresses Marginal Literature as a means of integrating students from a school located in the urban periphery of Macapá, in the state of Amapá, into the literary environment. In this sense, the objective was to verify whether it was possible to use this literary movement to introduce students to the literary world, considering the relationship between the themes that permeate Marginal Literature and those that are part of the reality of students from a peripheral school. This was carried out through a pedagogical workshop/intervention in which students learned about the history, authors, and characteristics of this literary movement and produced poetry. This study was characterized as action research, since the researchers were directly involved in the process, and as exploratory research, as it explored a theme with little visibility in the school environment, especially in regular basic education. The data collection instruments consisted of two questionnaires—one applied at the beginning and another at the end of the workshop—and the students’ poetic productions. Based on the analysis of the questionnaire responses and the poems produced, it was possible to conclude that, through Marginal Literature, with an emphasis on its social themes, it is possible to engage students in literary practice, especially due to its closeness to the various themes addressed by Marginal Literature.
