dc.description.abstractThis paper discussed the importance of articulatory phonetics in the teaching and learning process of the English language. And hypothesized that this study effectives the pronunciation of the speaker and facilitates the understanding of the listener. This literature search was justified, therefore, emphasized the interpretation and memorization of sounds as complementary in the acquisition of a foreign language. This work aimed to present articulatory phonetics as a method to support the English teaching. It was detected that the universities that train teachers of foreign languages and the textbooks do not prioritize the teaching of pronunciation, which causes interference and transfers by students implying in a phonetic-phonological, morphological, syntactic and pragmatic performance.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoEste paper abordou a importância da fonética articulatória no processo de ensino/aprendizagem da língua inglesa. E partiu da hipótese de que este estudo efetiva a pronúncia do falante e facilita o entendimento do ouvinte. Esta pesquisa bibliográfica tornou-se pertinente, pois, enfatizou a interpretação e memorização dos sons como complementares na aquisição da língua estrangeira. Teve como objetivo apresentar a fonética articulatória como método de apoio ao ensino da língua inglesa. Detectou-se que as instituições que formam professores de línguas estrangeiras e os materiais didáticos não priorizam o ensino da pronúncia, o que acarreta interferências e transferências por parte dos estudantes, implicando no seu desempenho fonético-fonológico, morfológico, sintático e pragmático.pt_BR
