Abstract
This study aims to analyze the contributions of the tabletop Role-Playing Game (RPG), combined with the active methodology of storytelling, to the development of narrative, oral, and written skills of elementary school students. The research was carried out at the Instituto Nacional Leva Ciência (INALC) through a pedagogical workshop entitled “Amazonian Narratives: RPG and Storytelling in Elementary Education”, consisting of eight meetings with students aged 9 to 11. The workshop proposal was based on the creation of narratives inspired by Amazonian literature, with an emphasis on regional myths and legends, integrated into problem-solving situations related to environmental issues. The methodological approach is qualitative, characterized as action research, using participant observation, field notes, students’ written productions, and audio and video recordings of RPG sessions as data collection instruments. The results indicate significant improvements in students’ oral expression, narrative organization, and confidence in communication, highlighting the potential of RPG and storytelling as pedagogical strategies that promote meaningful, participatory, and contextualized learning.
