O antagonismo da criatura fantástica: uma análise comparada sobre os lobisomens de Twilight e The Vampire Diaries

Abstract

This study seeks to analyze the process of werewolf antagonism in The Vampire Diaries and Twilight sagas. Based on this, research was carried out on the historicity of the werewolf in the mythological, legend and social context for the recognition of these creatures and the theoretical foundation on the fantastic literature that governs both sagas, in addition to the werewolf and its representation as an opposition character. For this, authors such as Tzvetan Todorov (1975), Gérard Genette (1995), Vladimir Propp (1928), Antonio Candido (2009), Beth Brait (1985), Julio Jeha (2007), Mikhail Bakhtin (11998), among other authors , were important to analyze the active roles of werewolves within the sagas in the context of the narrative and together with the concepts about the novel in Bakhtin's studies, which provided for this analysis, a more comprehensive and tenuous concept about the modern novel and its changes current, something that the sagas of vampires conceived by rescuing famous figures from popular belief and giving them a new narrative beyond what is known as Stephen King's The Hour of the Werewolf (1985) and Bram Stoker's Dracula (1897), rescuing concepts from Gothic fiction along with the novel in the feminine point of view, as well as the concepts Bakhtin refers to. Therefore, the rescue of these werewolves was important to understand how the characters, as fantastic creatures, are active and contributors to vampire narratives and what concepts are embedded in these characters, being two werewolves, two narratives, two purposes and ambitions.
