Abstract

The creative economy is emerging as an important force for the economic, cultural and social development of different regions. In the context of Laranjal do Jari, a city in the south of the state of Amapá, the arts economy presents itself as a promising way of promoting local growth and economic diversification. This article aims to analyze the relevance of the creative economy in Laranjal do Jari, highlighting its role in the region's development. The creative economy encompasses a wide range of creative and innovative knowledge-based activities, including sectors such as art, design, fashion, technology and media. These sectors not only create jobs and income, but also promote respect for the city's natural and cultural resources, strengthen tourism and value local identity. In Laranjal do Jari, the creative economy can act as a catalyst for social change, by providing new business opportunities and placing people in jobs that value their skills and abilities. And currently one of the sectors that drives the economy in the municipality is açaí, which of course does not allow it to be a creative economy, as it is a food from the region and shows regional appreciation. It is crucial to understand how the creative economy can positively influence both the culture and financial health of Laranjal do Jari. To this end, this research aims to identify creative economy projects in Laranjal do Jari, analyzing their impacts and discovering their unexplored potential for local growth.
