Abstract

This study analyzes the logistics infrastructure of the state of Amapá and its impacts on the performance of regional foreign trade. The research, characterized as exploratory, was conducted through bibliographic and documentary surveys using scientific databases and institutional reports covering the period from 2015 to 2024. The analysis examined the main logistics systems of the state, highways, port, airport, and waterways and their relationship with the competitiveness of exported products. The results show that the precarious conditions of highways BR-156 and BR-210, the limited operational capacity of the Porto de Santana, and the restricted cargo infrastructure of the Macapá International Airport constitute the main bottlenecks to the efficient flow of goods. The study also identified that Amapá’s export basket remains concentrated in mineral, forestry, and agricultural commodities, although recent research indicates emerging movements toward product diversification. These limitations directly affect logistics costs, transit times, and the state’s economic attractiveness. The findings suggest that strategic investments in transportation infrastructure, combined with multimodal integration and modernization of logistics systems, have the potential to enhance Amapá’s competitiveness, diversify its export structure, and strengthen its participation in international trade routes.
