Associação agroextrativista como estratégia socioeconômica para famílias rurais

Abstract

This study aimed to know the evolution and characteristics of an agroextractive association, having as reference the experience of ASMACARU and its associates. In this period of uncertainty and transformations that we live should reflect on the importance of the role of Associations, in this case a Rural Association, as a form of strength to claim with organizations, whether public or not, improvements to their region. Some of the steps taken to get there have been to identify what the role of an association of farmers/extractivists is, as well as to identify the main motivations that led the farmers/extractivists of the rural community involved to become members of ASMACARU; describe some advances and difficulties faced in this experience. For this purpose, exploratory and descriptive research was used as a method for data collection, through the use of questionnaires for data collection, as well as the use of bibliographic and descriptive sources. The association ASMACARU has existed for 20 years, and emerged with the intention of exercising collective extractive activities to get out of the hands of middlemen and seek new markets, generating savings not only for the Cafezal Community, but also to the municipality of Almeirim/ PA.
